LODGING AND TRANSPORTATION

Great News! The Denver International Airport has opened a light rail that goes directly from the airport to Union Station in downtown Denver, about 2 miles away from the main festival venue. Most of the venues are within about a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute cab ride or each other. For transportation, we recommend Lyft or Uber

There are many hotels nearby, and we will be working to get a block at one of the nice ones that is still affordable. Look around and see what works for you, and don't hesitate to write if you have any questions or problems!

For your convenience, here are links, addresses, and descriptions of nearby hotels:

A fairly new construction, the Sheraton is a fully modern hotel situated on the 16th Street Mall. Shopping and restaurants abound.

Crowne Plaza Denver (1450 Glenarm)

The Crowne Plaza is another recently constructed hotel in the heart of downtown. If you have friends staying at the Sheraton, you can probably wave at each other from your hotel windows.

Hyatt Place Denver/Downtown

Joining the Sheraton and the Crowne Plaza, Hyatt Place completes our trifecta of recommended downtown hotels. As such, it is convenient and modern.

Warwick Denver (1776 Grant)

Rather a nice hotel, 5 blocks from the main venue, featuring a swimming pool and views of downtown.

Ramada by Wyndham Downtown (1150 E Colfax)

About 3 blocks from the Turnverein. It's very convenient and a little cheaper than most of the hotels closer to downtown, but we've had a few complaints about the state of the rooms and the overall cleanliness.

Days Inn by Wyndham (930 E Colfax)

A mere block to the venue! It's a truism that cost and quality go hand in hand, and this hotel is quite cheap. It overlooks Charlie's, Denver's rowdiest western-themed gay bar, and Gyroz, Denver's best late night Greek fast food.

Patterson Inn (420 E 11th)

A charming bed and breakfast close to the venue and to some nice restaurants.

the ART a hotel (1201 Broadway)

"the ART a hotel" overlooks the Denver Art Museum. Its location near to the capitol building, ultra-modern design, and bizarre capitalization of its title all hint at its high price.

Newhouse Hotel - avoid at all costs!

The Newhouse Hotel is the kind of place where vermin flourish and dreams go to die. Perfect setting for a gritty film noir.
